I love big cities and their neon lights. I like how the cacophony of the traffic goes on all night and I lie in bed watching the lights cast shadows on my furniture. The ceiling gets lighted up with a myriad of colours and I think to myself, I am not alone. A million souls out there wide awake, thinking, dreaming. In a city like this, I am thrown in the middle of the fray. My phone rings off the hook, I get messages every other second and I feel occupied. I grab my jacket, call a friend and we meet for smokes and a warm cup of coffee on a chilly night. If I am in love, I would hop by his place and together we listen to the world outside. Our feet in the blankets, our hearts full of warmth. The city is an amazing place, we won’t have to listen to the silence in our heads.
